A lot of things went wrong at last night’s gig for the band, ‘technical difficulties’ and the loss of some equipment on the flight over. So they looked understandably pissed until Nancy Whang cracked a smile when breaking a vibraslap over the electro-drums. And, when sound was lost on their return to the stage after the set Maclean turned lounge-club mc to, I don’t know, keep the audience busy (is it because this was a docile crowd with no sniff of any pharmaceutics – had there been we could have all entertained ourselves with hallucinations); “Is Cocaine still illegal here?” he quipped.
Anyway, I don’t care. All things accounted for, I enjoyed moving (the very least I could, because of the cider gut) to the sounds.

WHO’S BEEN RANKING?

Went to Rankin Live opening on Thursday, it’s immense. Got talking with this lady below, channel4 news journalist. This is her picture by Rankin. 1000 folks in total will have given 50 quid to the photographer to snap them like supermodels. Not bad.

Rankin will use the exhibition space (Truman Brewery) as his studio for 15 days whilst it’s running for all voyeurs to…well…look. Go see.

Because last night a BFF revealed her latest tattoo to me, we got talking about home etched versions and boy have I seen a few down at the ol’ JC lately.
